Saturday, and possibly Sunday sounds like good work days. We have 4 weekend left.

The rs3s sound good to me.

Subframe bushings are in.

I'll order some pads.

What else do we have left to order?
Seat
Tires
Brake pads
?

Schedule a windshield replacement. Will AAA cover it?
Replace all fluids and basic stuff

Easy Things to Do:

Move over lower radiator hose
Troubleshoot power steering

I don't expect to be able to work on Saturday, but I should be able to on Sunday.

I will buy fluids too. I can work Saturday but not Sunday. Looks like Alan is working both days?

Jon is in for $600 if we get 4 drivers and $800 if it is only 3 of us. He would prefer 4 drivers though.

My guy is out for this race. It'll be three drivers.

Let's put an ad up on the forum. A 4th would make this race much more affordable.

RS-3s are backordered for 30-60 days. RE-71?

What did you guys get accomplished on Sunday?

Saturday
Brake rotor replacements
Pads checked and installed
Brakes bedded
Engine oil change (no filter)
Fluffy 2 vacuumed, washed, and leaks found (in preparation for taking to Sonoma race)

Tires should be arriving today at my house

I am excited for the ABS progress, less so on the starter.

I suspect the ABS will take a fair bit more work before it is operational.

We think there is some safety switch that is intermittently not closing and allowing the car to turn over.

I am with Eric on Fluffy being too loud.

Also, Alan and I came up with our theme.

Have we seen this before?

Mechanicals first, theme last. I want to at least have ABS when the monsoon rolls through Sonoma.

I'll be around both days.
The seat is already installed and we need to add the subframe bushings to the list

I suggest we just paint over the remains of Rich's theme (including the bribe stencils) and do the Nessie theme.  I finished the design last night and sourced the plywood.  Now I just have to get some Water Jet time.  We'll tie it down much like the spoiler of old. Also, I tossed in two tail lengths for us to choose from.

What about the weight reduction of all that old paint? We will shelve that for the next race then.

I have been looking at quotes to put on the starter button.  Of course "LeMans" and "Rush" are the two best movies to pull from.  So far I'm digging "Racing is life".

Because Racecar

Long Live the Queen

Fluffy Lives

Good Enough

How about something simple and short.
"Go time"

Also, I just checked the O-rings I bought. They are gasoline and oil compliant.

$160 for a used radiator?
http://www.ebay.com/itm/JAGUAR-XJS-RADIATOR-72K-94-95-96-OEM-CONVERTIBLE-AUTOMATIC-/121685209751?hash=item1c5500f297:g:-XIAAOSwLVZViC3N&vxp=mtr

Or should we get a custom one made? We should have a spare before Sonoma.

Lower radiator hose $100 on ebay. Thoughts?

Won't fit and no aftermarket radiator hoses

50Sonoma December 5-6 - Page 2 Empty Re: Sonoma December 5-6 Tue Nov 17, 2015 12:23 pm

We should probably start systematically collecting the lower radiator hoses of any XJ12s that hit the scrap yards.
