Things to do...

Pound out fenders
Inspect damage
Replumb transmission cooler (Will 1 be enough for Feb in Sonoma?)
Clean up engine bay and suspension (We have sooooo much Trans oil everywhere, including the trailer and my garage floor)
Eliminate wiring where possible
Diagnose sluggishness
Replace Front Rear subframe bushings
Replace wheel bearings

We may have to just replace fenders, especially the passenger side front. I'd also suggest we keep the forward hinges, but replace the rear latches with hood pins for the bonnet.

I'd also suggest:
Better starter switch
rewired fuel pumps
flush radiator

Optional:
Buy additional front bumper and bolt it to the rear. Or buy a bunch of front bumpers and bolt them all the way around the car, just build a frigg'n exoskeleton out of them.

A few things to add.
Inspect fuel check valves
Compression/leak down test
Supercharger(s)
Lower seat
Replace radiator hoses
Inspect water pump and thermostats
Install wideband o2 sensor

Just sneaking those Superchargers in there, huh? Let's refrain from the extra cost of those.

Oh well, I tried.
What time are we working on Saturday, I figure I'll invite the guy that was interested in joining the team over.

I will be ready as early as you get here. I would prefer to be done earlier since I have plans in Palo Alto that evening.

Helicoil and spark plug installation on Saturday? Then wheel bearings, electrical fan install, radiator reinstall?

Sounds good, did you order a helicoil kit?

10Sonoma February 13-14 Empty Re: Sonoma February 13-14 Mon Dec 14, 2015 3:35 pm

Eric

I do not have one, nor do I know which one to buy. I just asked Marc if he has one. Cass, does your work have one we can borrow for the day?

That's the right pitch and everything? Anything else that we need for this coming weekend?
Electric fan
What hoses need replacing that we need to order?
Bushings for throttles

Cass, are you going to be able to make it?

13Sonoma February 13-14 Empty Re: Sonoma February 13-14 Mon Dec 14, 2015 4:01 pm

Alan

I would measure a spark plug before ordering.
Throttle bushings and radiator mounts have been ordered.
We still need the intake crossover hose, power steering filter, and we should probably toss some new belts on while everything is accessible

14Sonoma February 13-14 Empty Re: Sonoma February 13-14 Mon Dec 14, 2015 4:16 pm

I will order the helicoil tonight (after measuring), along with the belts. I will try to find the power steering filter. Are we thinking of a Saturday work day? I am trying to piece my weekend together.

Saturday works, I just can't stay too late

I might. I'll let you know when I can. I'm sorry I couldn't make it last weekend, but I tried to make good use of the weekend.

I don't think I have the helicoil kit needed for your installation. We are an imperial shop so I don't think I have any reasonable quantity of metric helicoil stuff.

No worries about last weekend or the helicoil. We figured you had other business to take care of.

Why must I find this on carsforsale.com? I have school I need to pay for.

I'm pretty sure your student loans are supposed to cover a supercar

I fully support this decision.

I just checked my bank account and I have enough to buy the car and cover my half of a house down payment.

School would be left out in the cold...

Who needs an education when you have a viper?

On an unrelated note I also found just about the perfect house in Citrus heights.

2,000 sqft 3 bed 2 bath, attached 2 car garage on a 1.25 acre lot with a detached 4 car garage and overhang section.  The detached garage looks tall enough for a lift(s).

$375,000

Alan, could you find me a job good enough to make the mortgage payments on this thing?

I hear Intel pays well
