It looks like we are doing ButtonWillow in the Audi and in the Audi without the big turbo.

Let's break down the tasks.

Engine:
Pull and inspect current turbo (The wonder turbo looks great)
Acquire and inspect backup turbo
Acquire all bolts and hardware needed for both the above tasks
Hard search for all boost leaks

Brakes:
Replace rear pads

Suspension:
Replace bearings on all four corners
Give the suspension an alignment (the rear really needs it)
(Remount the lower control arms for better camber?)

Fuel:
Acquire at least (3) Hunsaker fuel jugs.                    http://hunsakerusa.com/i-20697501-hunsaker-5-gallon-sportsman-quikfill-jug-w-1-0-threaded-pour-spout-can-be-enlarged-from-2-25-to-3-0-part-h3005-100-s.html?gclid=CLrjhdKZq8UCFdKIfgodaKwA2A

Cooling:
Repair cool seat
Design dry ice recooling system for melted jugs of water used in cool seat system
Wire up the cool seat in a better fashion
Install drinking water system for driver (water bottle with straw system behind seat, velcro on the drinking straw and helmet)

Theme:
Maybe a theme that doesn't suck.  I liked the I-Robot one, but it does require paint and some body work

Harness:
Second submarine belt so that Alan can keep his testicles in working order
Sew a phone pocket on side of race seat with a velcro enclosure.

Body:
Hammer on the hood a bit and do some repair work on the hood latch

Thoughts?  Rich entered the Jag for ButtonWillow just in case we sold the Audi in time. (Rich has withdrawn the Jag)

I agree with most of what Cass stated. My comments are...

Will the new fuel jugs be compatible with our gas tank?
No theme change. This way we can focus on the car's performance.
Aerodynamics for engine cooling?

When are we going to work?

Ed / Cassidy

The fuel jugs have various sized hoses.  If really needed, I might be able to find and borrow one that we could practice with.

I would say that the aero should consist of remounting the splitter.  We can add some small baffling in the front clip as well to improve airflow through the radiator.

I can work May 16th, part of May 30th and 31st, June 6th, 7th and June 13th, 14th.

That is four work weekends.  We all know the car pretty well at this point so we should be able to divide and conquer.

I'd say:

Step 1.
Buy engine turbo gaskets, bolts, brake pads, tires, and second submarine belt

Step 2.
Pull and inspect the installed turbo, source backup turbo, install wheel bearings (maybe we can get away with only pulling off the cold side inlet hose and checking the turbine for axial play)

Step 3.
Install submarine belt, rear brake pads, hammer on hood, repair cool seat wiring, remount/repair front splitter

Step 4.
Hard search for boost leaks, remount lower control arms, test fuel jugs

What would you all say to a theme like this:  https://www.google.com/search?q=sharpie+paint+job&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ei=AZNKVYDxNKfmsATW14C4CQ&ved=0CAcQ_AUoAQ&biw=1920&bih=943

Who is making the purchases?  I will not be able to work this coming weekend because of dog/house sitting.  Priority 1 should be wheel bearings though.
Let me know if there is anything I should order and I will knock that out as I am sitting around.

Eric

harness submarine belt & fuel jug ordered

brake pads inquired about with Livermore Performance

Eric

What's left? I'm trying to plan out my next weekend.

Ed / Cassidy

Work left:

Align rear suspension
Buy backup turbo and related hardware
Buy and mount tires
Install second submarine belt
Test fuel jugs
Design and install a drinking system for the driver
A hard search for boost leaks

Let's work on Sunday.

Eric

In for Sunday. I'll buy the turbo hardware. Alan, try to find a turbo. I'm also trying to rebuild the spare engine this week.

Alan

Sunday works. I'll see what I can come up with for a turbo.

Eric

Maybe we can rent or buy a turbo from the other team.

Eric

Do we think the fuel jugs are going to work? Should I order 2 more?

Alan -
Have you ordered the tires?

I won't be able to wrench this weekend.

I have the pipe I need to do a test pour on the new fuel jug this weekend. Let's hold off on the other jugs until later this weekend.

I'll be wrenching a bit with Alan on Saturday.

Eric

How did everything go this weekend?

Ed / Cassidy

Eric wrote:How did everything go this weekend?

The intercooler is remounted and better protected against future impacts
The front brakes have been installed
The camber was improved for the front end
The engine/sway bar mount was replaced
I did most of the wiring for a USB power system for cell phones and GoPros.

Left to do:
Test fuel jug (Alan has pretty much what he needs for this)
Realign rear end
Mount tires
Sew a pocket for cell phones on outside rear of racing seat (I'll take care of this)

To do at the track:
Change oil
Bathe in bitches and champagne after the overall win

Eric

Alan -
Once you know the jug will work, let me know and I will order more (or you could do it). Also, get me any receipts that you have so I can plug them into the spreadsheet.
